Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to interpret plans and layouts and prepare computerised quotations for roof and floor trusses and wall frames. Work is completed in a timber and wood products production setting.The unit applies to Customer Service/Sales Assistant (retail or wholesale), Customer Service officer, Sales and Merchandising Team leader, Timber Advisor. No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: computers, keyboards and industry current software programs used to produce quotations for timber wall frames, roof and floor trusses designs, plans, technical specifications and notes for timber wall frames, roof and floor trusses on which to base quotation in-house material price lists, product description sheets or manuals; either electronic or hard copy template documents for recording calculations and quotations sample production and installation advice documents organisational procedures for preparing and documenting computerised quotations for timber wall frames, roof and floor trusses. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
